Another cold morning, another day on the mountain, and another day feeling grateful for all of it! As a child, I had always dreamed about photographing Bighorn Sheep as they rammed their heads together, and here I was, with a herd of Bighorns. I watched as the males cautiously eyed each other, sizing each other up and completely ignoring my presence. At this rate, the head-butting could start any minute!
I’d spent the last couple of days around this group and still hadn’t seen the rams butt heads. But something felt different today, more posturing and a tension in the air that wasn’t there before.
SLAM! Here we go! I couldn’t believe it, a sound that I could feel as much as hear. This was something I’d dreamed about for years, and now I was experiencing it! Lowering my camera, I took a moment to just watch, watch and appreciate.
A cold morning on the mountain, Bighorn Sheep, a dream, gratitude.
